Heather Ward is a member of the observation team for the Targeted Reading Instruction: Diagnostic Reading Strategies for Struggling Readers in Rural Schools within the National Research Center on Rural Education Support. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Education at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to her graduate work, Heather received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNC. She has since served in North Carolina as an AmeriCorps member and worked as a scholarship counselor for the T.E.A.C.H® Early Childhood Project. Heather most recently worked with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) as a Senior Accreditation Coordinator and assisted in the transition to NAEYC’s new accreditation system.
