Jason Rose

Jason Rose is a graduate research assistant supporting NRCRES as part of the Rural Early Literacy Initiative and a Ph.D. candidate at UNC's School of Education. His research interests include assessing and improving literacy achievement gaps across gender, economic and ethnic divides in the early childhood years, with a primary focus on promoting literacy achievement among underprivileged and at-risk boys. Prior to enrolling at UNC, Jason earned his M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education and spent several years teaching First and Second Grade in Savannah and Atlanta, GA. Jason was born and raised in Massachusetts, before moving on to complete his undergraduate studies at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY.
